Both of them had red eyes (hard to see in the photo), so almost certainly a tench.

I'd probably give deep creek a miss from now on considering what's just been dumped at the tip there :( Hence why I've been focusing on further upstream. Also glad that it's not just me hitting donuts at Spavin Lake, I only got into fishing recently so it was very demoralising to sit there hour afte...

You do have to find the right spot (as generic as that sounds). Spavin Lake ( even though it's stocked) has never produced for me, not even when I go there right after stocking. There's a quiet spot by the Nook which I go to some times, but that's mostly just short finned eel. I did spot a platypus ...
