Re: A sad sight
I think the saddest thing (and thankfully I didn't see any the other day) is when people leave great bundles of tangled fishing line on the shore. I was watching a pair of Kangaroos coming down to the water to drink the other day and mess of fishing line would led to a nasty situation.

A sad sight
A couple of days ago I went to fish the Upper Coliban reservoir. Over the last six months or so I have fished the Premier Mine rd end of lake, but for a change I decided to fish the dam wall. I was really disappointed by the amount of rubbish being left around by people. There were bags of rubbish l...

Re: Carp report, big carp location .
I use size 10 or even smaller and I've rarely had a problem; and when I have it has been because I've put too much bait on the hook and the barb has not got enough purchase.

Re: Can someone explain hook size?
At least initially, the bait determines the size of the hook I use. If I'm using corn or maggots, I use size 10 or 12 (even 14); Mudeyes or small worms, I use 8 or 10; Scrub worms, I use 6 or 4 (2 for the really big ones); for a big old yabby I'll use a 2 or a 1.

Re: Upper Coliban Reservoir Report
Nice report. I'm going to hit the Upper Coliban tomorrow. It's good to see that some of those Rainbow Trout that were stocked a while back are now at catchable size.

I don't know whether it is true or not, but I use it as an excuse not to go fishing when the weather is cold.

Re: Lauriston and Upper Coliban on Saturday
Good report. The Upper Coliban has been very good to me this year but it has exclusively been on baits; the lure fisherman I've meet have said that its been a real hard slog.
