My 31 pick for PPB snapper is 8kg Berkley Tournement mono in blue colour.
Ticks all the boxes.
For the southern reaches of PPB & westernport where I use larger lumps of lead I usually go 30lb braid.
Also use the same 30lb outfits for gummys.

Re: Ridiculous price of fish hooks
Yeah I usually also use Gamas but also use & like Owners. I agree you get what you pay for so I don't use el-cheapo hooks or line, but again 1/2 A HUNDRED BUCKS FOR A PACKET OF HOOKS IS B _ _ _S _ _ T.

Re: Ridiculous price of fish hooks
Yeah those prices are absolutely over the top. This is exactly why so many people buy via ebay, etc.
Then we'll no doubt hear retailers complaining about their loss of sales.

Ridiculous price of fish hooks
Dropped into the local Big Crappy Franchise tonight for the first time in ages. Wanted to buy myself a new Hawaiian sling. Wandered around the isles & was amazed to see a pack of 30 size 6/0 Owner circle hooks priced at $51. Yeah I know owners are great hooks but still; Half a bloody hundred dollars...

Re: Reel help please!!
With regards to cleaning, misting is the best way to clean followed by a good drying, both with a lint free rag & airing in a nice dry area away from direct sunlight, followed by a light spray with one of the recognised protectorants such as mentioned above. If misting isn't enough to rid your reel ...

Re: Reel help please!!
An aernos is another good budget option. But yeah you can't go wrong with a sienna for the price. Also, you've got to be careful with spraying WD40 on reels. WD40 isn't a lubricant, it's a solvent. If it gets inside the reel it will promote the break down of grease and oil, causing all sorts of pro...

Re: Shimano Spheros mod.
Yeah figued they would be somewhere around that Ducky. Thanks mate.
Given the price I got the reels for it still makes em a damned cheap buy.
Have to pop into the local tackle store & order a couple I think.
Thanx mate.

Re: Shimano Spheros mod.
Already got the Spheros coming Ducky.
Got em at a super cheap price that I couldn't knock back (over $100 bucks cheaper than normal retail - each).
Just gotta do the handle thing tho (well don't really have to, more want to).
Just thought I'd see if anyone here has done it previously.

Shimano Spheros mod.
Hey guys & gals.
Got a couple of Spheros 8000s coming for next snapper season.
Looking to upgrade the handles.
I believe the Saragosa & Stella handles fit staight on.
Just wondering if anyone has done it & how'd they go?
Thanx in advance.
Bill
