Bro-in-law was working his stand again this year. Said that things overall were a bit slow, even though they did ok.
With so many big companies closing down & sacking workers, combined with the budget, etc people are just a bit wary to go spending extravagantly.

Re: Mini Jump Starters - Power Banks
I've personally seen one jump start a GM with 6ltr turbo diesel donk. Battery was well flat before jumping. The jump battery stated it no worries.
Impressive.

Re: Sailor Reels?
Look, when people think 'Chinese made' they inevitably think 'junk'. Often that is the case becasue the stuff being imported is usually being imported becasue it's cheap. Howeer, if you want to spend decent money there is some VERY good chinese made stuff out there. How many people are aware that so...

Re: Reel sizes
Ok, I've posted on this previouslkyy, so apologies to thopse that have read it. I'll try to keep it short. Two 'Rules of three' whcih we can use to guide us on tackle selection. First 'Rule of three' states that we can generally handle fish to 3 times the line weight we're using. Ie we can expect to...

Re: An interesting occurance.
Hey Dougie. I was down about 1/2 way from Mt Martha toward Arthur's Seat, in just under 3 meters of water, bout 150 meters out I'd say. I've been fishing for snapper in PPB for over 35 years now & caught a great many of em, but never had that happen before. What took me by surprise & gave me such a ...

An interesting occurance.
Ok, so I headed out from Queenscliff at around 4am Sunday morning. My intention was ot head over towards Rye to give the gummies a good try. Well, got 1/2 a dozen small, under sized greys, but nothing keepable. So, about 9am I headed over toward Mt Martha to give the pinkies a try. Got a heap of sma...

Anyone fished Port Broughton SA ???
Hi again all. Well, I'm tossing around the idea of a fishing holiday over at Port Broughton in Sth Oz. As they have a closed season from 1 Nov to 30 Nov, and as Sept is usually the windiest month, so October would probably also be a bit 'uncomfortable', I was toying with the idea of heading over in ...

Re: Snapper Rod Advice?
Gonna be hard to get reasonable quality for $100 but it can be done. I'd go something like a 4000 Shimano Sienna & a 4-8kg rod. Spooled with 8-10kg line using a shock leader of around 40lb you'll be able to handle snapper & gummys no worries at all. I wouldn't go any heavier than 10kg line as you do...
