Re: Cherry Lake Altona
Thank you for the advice guys , we will keep trying and also try Newport lakes, yes I was very weary of snakes so we only fished along the Millers road side on the grass, I've had my fair share of snake encounters.

Cherry Lake Altona
Hi all
I've taken my grandchildren here several times but never had a bite, heard there are carp and eels in the lake, so my question is there a area where there is at least a chance of catching anything, thanks.

Re: Mansfield trout fishing
Delatite would be your best bet but finding a spot can be difficult if you have not fished this river before, like Seb85 mentions google or better still head into Mansfield and drop into the gun shop/tackle shop and get some advice and maybe buy a map of the area. Failing that Gough's Bay just off t...

Re: A special request
Yes the Eildon back road trout farm has closed, bit of a shame as my grandkids caught their first trout there.

Re: A special request
Eildon fish farm has closed down and has sold all it's stock, but there are others around like Buxton and Ballarat, I think a fish farm would be the best bet for a definite catch.

Re: Diver killed by speeding boat
What a terrible accident, There has been many close calls and incidents since the divers flag was changed from full red with a white diagonal stipe, this was easily seen from a good distance, now some government bright spark decided to have it changed to white with a blue dovetail, which blends in t...

Re: vale Pat Washington OAM ("Washo")
Washo was also the operations manager for Oceaneering (a large international commercial diving company) for many years overseeing Bass Strait platforms subsea construction and maintenance programs, I was one of his divers and he was one of the best managers I had worked for. He passed away after a l...

Re: Long Jetty- Port Welshpool
Thank you for the photos, good to see the old 70's bell in place, did many deep-sea dives in that bell on helium mix, brings back many memories, looking forward to the opening of the museum.

Re: Long Jetty- Port Welshpool
I believe the shed is going to be turned into a museum or a shed onshore, a history of professional diving on the construction of Bass Strait oil/gas platforms and exploration. I think the old diving bell is in place already, I've summited old photos from when I was a diver out there and a lot more ...
