Once upon some winter Bass in the west
As the title suggests, I decided to give my local a go right through the winter. I'd heard that it it pretty much shut down during the cold months and nobody bothered much. I caught a Bass and an EP towards the end of May so was hopeful that I'd be able to carry on catching. June was hard and consis...

Re: Back in lockdown again.
Final day at Carnoustie was a cracker last week. Minjee and Kyriacou were on a roll at one point before Steph dropped shots late.
I've been tempted to take the clubs for a walk and throw them over a fence or two... 3 clubs, 72 holes all within a 15 minute walk from the front door.

Re: Back in lockdown again.
But going forward most lockdowns generally happen in Melbourne and will continue to do so. I’m planning to get out in the next 3 years regardless of covid but lockdown after lockdown just make it a no brainer. Never thought I'd say it, but QLD is looking pretty good (Covid hates warm weather, but t...

Re: Back in lockdown again.
I disagree, at some point provided that everyone has had a chance to be fully vaccinated then we have to end lockdown. It becomes a personal choice to be or not to be vaccinated. As it should be. The chance of hospitals being overwhelmed is probably the biggest issue and one that I don’t have an an...

Re: Too many rods
I agree. It took me less than a year from when I started fishing to give up on piers and start surf and yak fishing. Get some roof racks, a second hand hobie and dont push the safety boundary too far in terms of the places you fish and you’ll have a much nicer time than you would jockeying for spots...

Re: Back in lockdown again.
Who pays for the booster shots? Joe public will have to pick up the slack eventually. They could be ongoing for who knows how long. In time I daresay they will end up being treated the same as flu shots and everything else, covered by medicare and the PBS. It's much cheaper for the taxpayer to fork...

A couple of nice Perch
I ventured down to the river yesterday at 5.20pm, it was bloody freezing, anyway, by 5.30pm I had 2 Perch, dropped 2 perch and had many more bites, all in a 10 minute window, then they just stopped, so I went home

Re: McLoughlins Beach
Troy McLure, yep lockdown sucks. And living in East Gippsland certainly has some advantages though MCL is still a fair haul from Paynesville. One reason for posting text along with the repetitive (though not so exciting) pictures at times, is to try and create a sense of a potential piscatorial adve...

Re: Back in lockdown again.
Let me explain how this works. All procedures that will create a need for an ICU bed are on hold. So a person that is in need of a procedure i.e. chemo and surgery, but not presently in hospital gets postponed til after the covid crisis. Even if that procedure will extend their life expectancy. Sor...
