Sounds like a mulloway for sure. I’ve hooked a few in the yarra that are unstoppable. I’ve never encountered a ray up the yarra and I fish it a lot for jew, although I have in docklands so depends where you are I guess. When you go to inspect the boat ask the owner to fill the boat with water up to just past the chines, if he refuses walk away, hair line cracks in metal is hard to see, also if the alloy is corroding tiny pin hole hardly show,especially if painted, I found a tiny hole in the tinny I bought this way,...

alright yeah, im using a catana 1-3kg and i can cast like 3.5 4 squid jigs no worries it punches it right out there so im not too concerned about that. But yeah thanks, ill have a look at thr tcurve :) No worries. Sounds like you know what you're doing, just becareful casting those heavy squid jigs...

I have the daiwa scratchy rod a great light fishing rod but as sebb said i would,nt be using it with squid jig,s different type action

For that price get a td hyper and invest the rest id the $$ in a second hand squid rod from fb marketplace or similar areas.
