Satanists, Yellas and a sacrifice

With the resumption of “covid normal” life , the city has truly woken up again. While some may prefer the quiets of Gippsland or the high country, there are some experiences that can only happen to you in the 3000 postcodes . This is such a tale. I pitter pattered down to Albert park, as I have on m...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Had a lukewarm outing at Taylor's Lake today, all be it it a few days behind schedule. It was good because well...it's just good to be out fishing, but bad because someone was in our spot - and someone beside them, and someone beside them...later found out the golden tag competition was on, so every...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Can't buy a Carp at the moment, so decided to rig up an old rod with some new braid and head out to Fyans for a spin. At first I lost a 2lb Reddy off the wall (haven't caught a decent Reddy for ages ). 'That was my chance' I thought, but I didn't have to wait long before a reasonable Rainbow came al...

Best session ever-Black Rock

Headed down to Black Rock the other night with my old man to go out on the boat for the first time in seven months. At first we sounded around the shallows until a school of pinkies appeared on the sounder, we dropped anchor and soon had some undersize ones, soon after some slightly better fish came...

Re: Maribyrnong River, 09/01/21

Mercury is an issue if you are consuming fish with higher levels on the reg. If you are eating the odd fish , I dont think it will be an issue .
Just try and not eat a 40 yr old bream for dinner every night and you should be good.

Melton Reservoir

I fished Melton Reservoir which has been stocked with Cod, Yellas, EP's and Silver perch. I managed to get a few EP's which were nudging the 40cm mark and a Silver perch which was bigger then the EP's. I have fished it two times this week, the fist time i was distracted by a school of 20cm redfin sm...

Re: Docklands 26/01/21

Not a bad session. :tu: My office used to be in docklands, fished there many times before and after work. Productive water. I've seen and or caught 2-3kg snapper, mulloway big and small, kingfish, monster bream. All sorts of things too, like Coles shopping trolley, car wheel, etc. Now my dining room...

Goulburn Trout Trip

After a lot of planning, I managed to get together 6 of my mates for a trip to the Goulburn. The weather forecast was not looking good, the first day was raining, and so too was the last which not only meant miserable weather but a low barometer. Undeterred, on the first morning one of my mates and ...

Werribee river madness

I went down to the local river this arvo not expecting too much but ended up a great couple of hours. I caught 8 Estuary Perch on plastics and worms, I got a 32cm Bass, a 32cm Redfin and a 40plus Catfish. So much fun on 6lb line
