Barwon Heads Gummy
Thursday May 16th I got to get out front for the first time in awhile. Anchored up just past the bluff in 24m of water at first light in calm conditions and got some bread and tuna pellets going for burley. It wasn't long before I had slimy mackerel onboard using unbaited flasher rigs sitting in the...

Barwon Heads Snapper Gummy School shark
Was able to get back out again yesterday and straight to the same spot as my last report. Was a little fresh with 12knot winds and 1.5m seas but I was lucky to have a deckhand as I'm usually solo. Not long after getting the burley going we were able to hook up some nice slimy on the sibiki rig for b...

Re: Barwon Heads Snapper Gummy School shark
The school sharks taste close to the same as gummy in my opinion. I launch out of Ocean Grove and more time than not try to find a drop off straight out past the bluff in 25m - 30m of water and anchor up over top. Chimney rock reef is a great starting point I find and any drop off around it has been...

Re: Barwon Heads Snapper Gummy School shark
Some nice fish ! Can I ask, do you guys drift for gummies or are you anchored? Can you tell what depth you're in? Cheers. I find a drop off in 20-30m and anchor. I dont bother to travel to far as I have found over time slimy mackerel as chum will bring fish to you from long distances. its not so mu...

Snapper and gummy Point Wilson
Got out in the bay for the first time in a long time on the 21st at 10am. Launched out of Clifton Springs and got on to a few small squid just out front pretty quickly with old faith full gold top and dark bottom jig. Only had a few hours as I had my greenhorns on board so just decided to go straigh...

Barwon Heads Kings
Well I finally got onto the the kings straight out from the bluff in 35 / 50m of water over the snapper and gummy grounds. I managed to get a bit of action but most just uindersize and a 75cm beauty. When nothing else was working the past couple outings for me I decided to dedicate a day of trolling...
