I have that rod in the 7 foot model and honstly pair it with a rovex endurance 2000 reel it is light and balances so nice i could cast it all day its that nice in the hand.

I used to have that Rovex 8'6 rod. It's good for the price. 2500 reel with 10 lb line should be okay. I am now using Majorcraft Solpara, bought it around $115 I think. Very happy with it. The rovex is just garbage.
Put some extra $$$ and get something better.
Ns Blackwater, major craft solpara etc..
I would wait for the Christmas sales to start soon, might be some bRgains to be had.

Rovex for the price is a good all around boat rod squid ,kgw ,plastics.

Solpara is not worth the money....
