Thanks mate. I also live in point cook. I often row in Sanctuary Lake, but never try fish there. Better close to PC for sure. But I think driving less than 1 hour is acceptable for us. There's Melton reservoir, Then around 1hr'ish drive are Daylesford lake, Wendouree, Lauriston, Eppalock, heaps mor...

Its not fresh water, but Campbells Cove is a good spot to launch and paddle over to the RAAF jetty. The other side of the jetty is good for squid and the whole area is good for flathead, whiting and pinkies.
