It depends on what you're fishing for. Little reefies in close, trevally etc you should be ok. If you hook a big salmon on that setup from the rocks in Lorne, you're going to have a full on fight on your hands. I would highly, HIGHLY recommend at least a 9 footer for lures, and a 12 footer for baits...

Hi everyone. I have a Daiwa Infeet Z 732LFS rod paired with a 2500 reel on soft plastic. Is this a possible setup to do rock fishing down at Lorne? haha. Or do I need something bit more heavier - Maybe a medium heavy rod? Thanks :) Casting lures or bait fishing? For bait fishing, definitely too sho...

If you find a decent day shouldn't be a problem to fish certain areas of rock lodges. Its not my preferred style of fishing on the Rocks down there (Bait & Lure on 12'& 9' respectively). 2 popular rock platforms there are Jump Rock & Artillery Rocks.
