Re: 2nd hand hobie pa14 vs native watercraft manta ray 12 vs cheap copy

Cavitation plate?? Please educate me :-D intrigued to know. Show me a photo of yours too perhaps, if you dont mind. I have a split hand paddle that I'm thinking to put somewhere behind the seat. Where do you keep yours? I just googled some as I'm not home. As for the Paddle, I split in two and keep...

Re: 2nd hand hobie pa14 vs native watercraft manta ray 12 vs cheap copy

Oooh thats a good idea! Less stuff on the side. I thought that plastic cover thing is above the water or not fully submerged. And what about the battery? Atm i have the battery in the box behind the seat. If the transducer is to be on that cavitation plastic thingy, the battery gotta be at the fron...

Re: Drill spooling attempt

Only problem I see here with this option, and also when you get it spooled in a shop is.. The line lay on the actual reel (with spool now mounted) may/will vary due to how far the rotor moves along the shaft. And hence within the very first few casts you will find out the hard way when **** hits th...

Re: Boat Maintenance

One more thing I forgot to mention earlier is about polishing the outboard cowl, and similar areas on the boat ( consoles and stuff like that) Any general car polish is enough. It keeps the cowl looking nice and new and also washes salt off very easily. I do it couple of times a year, keep the outb...

Re: Jasonfish1234 snapper hunt log 3

Jason, I have to admit, I was convinced that you were a fake profile, and now feel a little bad for jumping to this conclusion. Great to see you getting plenty of help from the members on here. and now you have all of us barracking for your first snapper! I have an insane schedule for the remainder ...

Re: What's your favourite Snapper Hardbody?

The key with what I've found is speed and depth, and its sloooooow and getting lure close to bottom, Ie I would troll in my yak a sebile koolie minnow that dives to around 3 m and fish 3-3.5 m depth.

Re: Why use a leader????

Just to add to Purp's blurb, if you tie braid straight to a lure, the braid can get caught in the split rings and tangle on the trebles and often times impossible to undo.

Re: braid to mono what is strongest knot

Knot Behd Ducky! I do a variant of that, takes around 2 mins to tie and is all i use. Even on Roach pubes (3lb). I don't believe there's a stronger knot and there's definitely no slimmer knot. If you can't tie the FG, then go a doubled over braid slim beauty. I don't recommend the albright/alberto i...
