Hi there

Hi everybody, hope you're all catching. Came across this forum whilst searching for ideas on places to fish and thought it looked like a great place to talk fishing so here I am. My fishing background was mostly freshwater bait fishing with the odd deep sea charter back in England. Been here for 6 y...

Once you go black....

Hi All, After the interest a bunch of you showed earlier in the year on my failed worlds quest, I thought I'd make a quick post. On Saturday Dec 21, After fighting 60 X 3 minute rounds with a fresh opponent each time and no breaks, I was awarded my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt under Professor Thia...

St Leonard's Report 08/02/2020

Hey Everyone, February arrived delivering us a healthy mix of strong winds and stormy downpours. End of Season LBG trip under crazy circumstances.

So, I've been fishing. No laws were broken in the creation of this report. Rock fishing is inherently dangerous, and we, as rock fisherman, accept a certain degree of risk as the price for the art form that we practice. This topic has been done to death and doesn't require any further consideration....

Re: End of Season LBG trip under crazy circumstances.

Nice write up doug, it's times like now that make you realise how lucky we are to be able to do trips like this. A mate and I did something very similar but fishing an estuary in gippy just before lockdown, seeing some of the fire damage was pretty confronting in places. Really admire the effort yo...

Re: Where / what will you fish after lockdown?

Keeping it local, St Leonards land based targeting the favorites of squid, garfish and whatever else is around.

I’ve been watching the salmon bust up from the beach and the gars schooling over the weed. Few pinkies around too.

Re: Do you target Australian Salmon?

I don't "primarily" target them as a stand alone trip. I do though target them as a targeted by-catch , , , , if that makes sense. Also if it works out "convenient", on holiday trips away, if we hear near by there are Salmon about, then yes, we make the little trip from the holiday location BUT not ...
