Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Headed down to the creek after work today, mainly with the intention of finding golf balls, but noticed there was A LOT of Carp about. This is no different to usual, but given the water was so low and clear and I could see them all, it evoked a very visceral response, so I dumped the plastic bag wit...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Went out to the Wimmera River today where it was hawt , which meant the Carp - and mozzies - were out in force. It's safe to say the mozzies were biting way more than the fish. The Carp out the river seem really active in the hour or two before dawn, where they feed really strongly, before the cool ...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Falling temps only saw 3 landed today. What a difference a day makes! Surprisingly I did catch a silver perch though (on corn). A lot of juvenile natives seem ready to take corn. +3 2022/23: 41 (2014) Silver Perch Bidyanus bidyanus: The third most important native freshwater fish in Australia, ranki...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Just the two again today. Both taken on float. The Carp are still there, but they seem to have slowed down a bit.

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

I've been hitting up the Yarra lately trying to get my first Carp from that water system. I've been parking at Westerfolds Park and been going for a ride from there. I think I've found the spot: corn cans everywhere, carp scales on the bank and rod holders made of wood where people have obviously be...

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Got this slab down the creek the other day (05/03/2023).

Got him after throwing a whole can of corn in as burley.

Re: Cornacarpio's Cumulative Carp Culling Caper

Got these 4 down the creek on the 13th March, 2023. Went back the next day in even better conditions and was expecting a doubly-big haul, but got zilch, but I guess that's just fishing. With daylight saving officially wrapping up today, I think that's me done for the 2022/2023 'season'. My fishing e...
