Re: What are you good at, average and not very good? With tips and tricks

I think that establishing areas to work on is a great way to grow as an angler. This is going to be about lure fishing largely because I don't regularly bait fish. What I'm good at - small systems, irrespective of whether I'm on foot or the kayak small systems is where I am most comfortable. What I'...

Re: Sanctuary Lakes breams 28/04/2019

Nice work to get out there and give it a run. For small surface lures I would be careful with how much you change, the smaller (45mm) gomoku walkers in particular have an action that is very sensitive and small changes can really mess it up. I find they run best with a mono leader and a small loop k...

Fish from last couple of weeks

Wasn't too sure where to chuck this but since it's mostly trout thought here would do. Been out fishing a reasonable amount the last couple of weeks, mainly trout fishing averaging over 20 a trip in the small streams but have got out for a few of my other favourites as well. Some of the pics below h...

Great fish mazman, are those bass or EP?
What lure is that on the bream? Slow roll retrieve?
Big one is a bass and the smaller one is an ep.

Bream are on an austackle shinku (imitation of tiemco stick minnow), no real retrieve on it just slack lining it in the right area.

Re: Trout lures/flies discussion

The only area where I consider myself experienced when it comes to trout is small streams. Lately for lures I've been running the Daiwa DR minnow as my first choice and then vary the colour with conditions. However, a big part of the reason I did the lure challenge vid was to show that in small stre...

Re: Freezing Marysville

Nice work seb, I find you comment on lures interesting. Especially late and early season with high water levels and fish that are a bit less active I find lure choice matters a lot more as well as cast accuracy. Not saying that cheap lures won't catch fish but lures with certain actions certainly o...

Re: Gunnamatta beach 8/6/19

Yeah, light gear for spinning and keep moving. I get bored just soaking baits personally & enjoy the buzz of hooking sambos on lures, although off there I prefer going heavier on the lure than 28. How big/heavy would you go? 40gm? I used 28gm because my rod ideal lure weight is only up to 35gm. It'...
