Duck broken.

Well, after a frustrating few trips, (most of the weekend just gone was spent on the water), I finally broke my early season snapper duck last night. Got the call Monday night, and headed to the skippers house for 4.30pm on Tuesday arvo. Hastings boat ramp was chockas with people coming back in, but...

Re: So who had a clue...

Unfortunately the body of water in mention is not big enough for both. Dare I say it, but I'd bet a few thoughtless boaties anchoring up in stupid places instigated the changes to begin with. That's actually a long way from the truth. There's plenty of room for everyone to use the river and there i...

Re: Baitcaster question

I haven't put much thought into this before but I'm guessing it's because low profile baitcasters are meant for casting and retrieving lures and that having a level wind moving during the cast means it is taking more force to turn the spool and cast distances are reduced which isn't favourable. Had...

Re: So who had a clue...

Great news guys. The consultation period has been reopened. Now we need people who fish the area (or don’t like the idea of being locked out) to submit an email. Suggestions for an email: Briefly talk about A) What fishing the Yarra and its bridges mean to you and how long you’ve been doing it B) Ho...

Re: Bad England

People of my Dinosaur age communicate with language not a magic box. What do you think a radio is ? I have an English degree and four units of linguistics. I can go through every single one of your posts and correct it to technically correct English, or I could choose to interpret the meaning of yo...

Re: Yarra River rules consultation suspended

Long story short, The proposed changes were intended to put in place formal laws around the rowers and where they could turn etc. At no stage did they consider the effect on rec boaties/yakkers. Once made aware the number of yakkers and boaties that use the area they are going back to the drawing bo...
