Yeah, I hadnt targetted them until this year, always spent the summers chasing reds over in ppb. I think in future once december hits it will be onto the tings [emoji14]

Me n a mate were grabbin horses (40cm+) Kew in about 14m off Hastings but my mate went back Aus day n got nothin but a day on the water

Anyone doing the whiting comp in March?

My mate knows kgw better than myself but if there's a big difference between high n low tide they seem to come on the bite abut more we've killed spots with this big difference in tide n had little to no luck in th same spots with little tide difference so to us it's not exactly proven but it's th method that works with us, as for wind no idea, n light gear I use my spin rod with 10lb line i wouldn't need 10lb but I use it for cod n yellowbelly

Hit Hastings today and between 3 of us we ended up with a pretty small bag.. Conditions were good considering melbourne looked like ****. Wind picked up in the arvo n was a little choppy on our way back in (3pm) we kept 5 kgw 2 flathead n 2 pinkies 2 whiting hit 40 and one 39!

Here was a school of salmon Chasing baitfish to the surface we chased the gulls for a bit n cast some lures to no avail! Can't always b a winner tho hey -.-

I'm picking up quite a few KGW, landbased on braid. The secret is to keep the bait moving. The skill in achieving this of course, is up to you.

Quiet session at Mt Martha this morning, watched a pod of whales pass through and caught my first whiting

Few were being caught of mornington pier on the marina side. Yesterday. Afternoon.
Few slimy mackeral and barracouta too. Couta and slimeys were 40cm atleast.
