Who would be interested in a seasonal on line Whiting Fishing Comp. No prizes just a bit of fun.
Comp can be for a set period e.g. 1st Jan to 30th April 2020.

Winners are 1st Whiting over 50cm and Biggest Whiting can fish anywhere in vic. Measurement is posted on a brag mat or clear legible tape with a competition code on the photo so we know it came from the comp period.

The code will be posted at roughly 7am Jan 1st.

So who’s in or is it a pitiful idea?

Doesn’t matter if you have fished once for Whiting or 1000 times one big catch and you could take the glory.

Yeah I'll participate

I'm hopeless at catching whiting in big numbers but know a decent spot where some big girls hang out

I've caught a fair few whiting but i'm based in the north end of the bay and the south end seems to be much more productive

Blairgowie would be your best bet landbased. Drop a berley pot to the bottom filled with pellets and scraps with a really fine fly screen mesh inserted in it to create interest without feeding the fish and cast 10m down current with pippies and squid. It's seriously the only place I've had to really weed out the whiting when chasing Yakkas and trevally and all within casting distance of the pier.
