Whiting Bait-How I do it

For those who haven't had time to get their own bait you can get live pipis in Costco or woolies. The live pipis hold well and you can put a small squid strip on the end to hold.

Yes I use Cuttlefish sometimes when someone gives it to me.Good bait for huge whiting at Queenscliff near the Pilot Boats Pier
I dont kill Cuttle fish or Octopuses

Just out of curiosity Denis, why don't you kill cuttlefish or occy's? You dont like eating them or for other reasons?

I agree with Dennis on this one, Cuttlefish and Octopus are super smart...watch 'My Octopus Teacher' and you wont eat one again

Will definitely give this doco a watch today, perfect day for it. But I must reiterate that I highly doubt i won't be eating occy's anymore. My signature dish is an octopus under a camp oven with potatoes.

Im yet to go whiting fishing ever, I will endeavour to give it a crack this season even if I have to use bait.

I have caught a lot of whiting over the years using Turtleback worms and 2.5inch grubs, you will out fish the bait fishos sometimes but keep in mind that my fishing was done in the Northern end of the bay where there isn't much tide
