well done ducky, nice one to get those numbers up...

when i was a lot younger i used to go fishing for saltwater eels with my dad (overseas), im with you when you say its hard to kill them easily
we used to catch ones 2-3m long. lets say a lot of bricks, logs etc were involved to subdue them.

I'm dreading trying to put a live eel on the mat, might just have to kill it and use it for bait. Did you try using lipgrips because they don't work on eels :P

There is a method of subduing eels I've read about but never tried it myself.

Here is a link to a specialist Eel Angling Site.
The National Anguilla Club

A bit like being an eel whisperer I suppose.
:)

Just keep it for bronzie bait mate. Took 15 photos to get this one laid out Straight even though it was dead as the muscles kept going and the tail lifting

I found lip grips were only good for briefly pinning the head before stabbing it. Missing. Swearing and retrieving hands quickly as it had a go at me. Haha. But once it was on the way out I finally got them in.

Ice slurry and an esky with a lid would be the best way to go I reckon.
