I have never done squid fishing off a beach. I'm guessing it's still the same setup? Long rod, squid spike, float. 1m under float?
Checkout Nev,s fishing on youtube he explain,s it well

Yeet out some squid spikes at Cleeland Bight if the wind is ok for it.
This is great for monster squid

Also whiting are Cat bay / ventnor on the other side of the island
Ok cool
I'll bring two setups.
11ft rod for squid. 1m under float you reckon?
And a 9ft medium light rod for whiting.
I picked up a 49cm hood (pb) exactly like this in this spot. High tide and dawn / dusk helps a lot.

Wish me luck!
First thing first, convince the Mrs to go fishing for few hours. And hopefully dawn/dusk.
😅

Hi Sebastian depends how wind adverse you and your lady are

Sat SW wind forecast maybe Rhyll or better yet cleeland bight for squid or walk to the eastern entrance.

Sun SE if your happy to fish beaches etc maybe Vetnor area for squid behind mcaffies
I thought you were a Punchbowl fan?
Yes a massive fan especially in a building swell and onshore winds.
Great for all the family especially toddlers.

Nah that's on the other side out near Ventnor but it's the same deal. Cast a spike about a metre and a half under a float. Wait. Squid.

Not a complicated game at all.

Managed to fish for about an hour during slack high tide in Red Rocks around 11am, late in the day. Overcast, couldn't see the weed bed. Donut...
Wind going to the left and current going to the right. Best I could was casting as far possible and let it drift in the current.

Few people at Cowes pier, but not as crazy as I thought would be.

Oh well, had a nice time. Now I know how to beach fish for squid. Gotta pay attention of the drift etc.

Private dam?

Drove past couple good looking inlets, they looked fishy but no time left to fish.
