Cheers for that.

So my understanding is...

Boating is out.

Kayaking may or may not be out depending on if you're getting exercise and whether or not the water popo consider it boating.

Beaches are mostly closed but if you can find one that is open you can fish it, surf or swim.

Non-essential travel from your home is banned unless you're getting exercise or protein collecting.

By the way everyone, VRFish is not a government department and their advice probably shouldn’t be used as a source when considering the legalities of your actions. They don’t make the laws.

im yet to see a formal issue from Victorian fisheries authority as to wether fishing is allowed yet or not.
the APP hasnt been updated either.
my guess is they are still trying to clarify from the government themselves.

VRFish have walked back their previous advice and changed their tune. They are no longer saying it’s ok to fish. See link.

Cheers skronkman, seems like they have indeed changed thier mind but it's for the best intentions. Best just to stay home if we can, I have a family member that's battling cancer so I'm not taking any risk. I'd rather miss fishing for a year than my family member forever. Stay safe everyone

list of measures will remain in place until the 13th of April and if necessary, will be extended.

That link says basket ball is ok, yet last night some kids were media shamed as they were being kicked off basketball court by cops...this is what happens when you start making exceptions no one knows whats supposed to be what. Hope they are only fining folks for absolute obvious cut and dry cases.

i however did ring the number on the document (yarram police station) and confirm that the document was infact legit, but that could have easily been a prankster on the other end, that part im not sure about atm.
