New to fishing...have a question?

Post by Rod Bender » Sat Jan 17, 2015 5:31 pm

Hi all
A member pm'd me with a suggestion of starting a thread for NEWBIES...who want to ask simple questions related to fishing, or what they may seem to be dumb questions. Well there is no need to be embarrassed here! Ask away...just not questions like where is the best spot for ?????! We all started out as beginners! Members will no doubt help.
cheers
Jim

Great jim if it works it would be great.I once asked a simple stupid question, and the best reply was an insult to my question,so i still dont know the answer.Good luck.I think if forum members dont know the answer to a 2 a legitimate question, dont post an answer at all.

I asked a silly question 46 years ago, and we are still together.

It's an exhilarating feeling catching a fish
But it's an even better feeling releasing them

Hi Gregmaka, I remember that question, I'm pretty sure it would be ok in small amounts for personal use, what you would need to guard against is inadvertently scooping up any critters that would break the intertidal zone restrictions eg shrimp, or translocation rules, ie transporting pests from one water to another eg north pacific sea stars.
Only way to be 100% sure is to ask your friendly fisheries officer next time you see them- I've asked a couple of curly questions in the past and have kept their email replies just in case.
Ps don't take that high tide comment personally, we have some clowns on the forum, i don't mind their wit from time to time!
