Long Necked Turtles
I fished a series of small farm dams today which according to the landowner, he had often seen fish in them.
I figured there may have been a few decent sized carp in them.
The first pond I fished drew a blank, the second pond saw a lot of activity with small carp but nothing of any size.
Making my way over to the third dam I was amazed to see literally dozens of turtles, either basking on logs or just mooching about with their heads just out of the water.
Whilst it's not unusual to see the odd turtle here and there I've never ever seen so many turtles congregated in a such a small pond before.
Every day is different and you never know just what you'll see.

Re: Long Necked Turtles
That sounds awesome mate. Are you much of a photographer? would love to see some nice quality pictures of them.
I've had a few long neck turtles back in the day. they make great pets. really easy to look after and great to watch. They eat anything you throw in the tank from worms, crickets and bugs to small fish and snails.
I had my tank outside and a baby bird fell in the tank once.. The turtle tore it to shreds!
Cheers, Anth

I'm not much of a photographer. Now and then i might fluke a few ok photos but most are pretty average. I just have a pretty basic camera, nothing with extra lenses like the keen blokes use.Sinsemilla wrote:That sounds awesome mate. Re: Long Necked Turtles
I see many of them crossing the roads around my place and have heaps in my dams. when I see them on the road I get out and move them, it's sad to see them dead on the roads.

I've caught them in the river on soft plastics of all things, they like to scratch you if they can. you can usually see their little head pop out the water
