Just remembered why I don't bother with them any more and I hope this forum does not go that way .
There is no forget your password function so you have no way to be a member after losing your computer ....... well yes I know I should write down all my passwords and hide them but I am an old feller so .......

Too right Tex. Best way to eat Bream , , , , hot coals. We head and gut them, leave the scales on and peel the scales off once cooked. Couple minutes on each side then a couple of minutes on their backs, always helps having two or more Bream for the back stacking, they lean on each other.

Then , , , , Lemon juice, Olive Oil & Oregano in a small bowl, whisked till emulsified, then poured on the cleaned Bream

Most, if not all forums I am on have a 'button' to contact admin. Have you had a look for it?

On another note, there may be a couple bream forums, I'm not sure but previous google searches I have done looking at tackle has lead me to one of the forums. There is good info to be found!

Hey Texas, interested in your Bemm comment which included Luderick.
This is a fish which has given me a lot of enjoyment, first at Yamba on northern NSW coast on floats and cabbage weed and later at Bemm on worm.In all my trips to Bemm have only caught Luderick (which once were referred to as niggers) when the entrance was open.
When I was there in March the estuary was very full, haven,t looked it up but assumining that is the case now?
Great fighters on the right gear but not a fish we hear a lot about in Victoria and good to eat when cleaned quickly.
Black stomach lining must be cleaned out quickly when the fish is dead.
Would be really interested to hear from you on methods catching,conditions,bait and rig.

I'm very basic and caught it on my bream gear
Boat with a pole each end, too keep it steady
JW Port Hacking rod with 8lb mono
Sandworm (pumped near river mouth) on no.2 hook & running sinker
Boat in the shallows and fishing the channel

Fish we cooked were whole, not gutted or scaled
Both fish were 2kg or so, but have cooked many smaller (mainly bream)

Yeah, we stumbled on the Luderick here in SA at the Outer Harbour Breakwater, runs deep quick, with weed everywhere.

But yes, those Sandworms are a gun bait , , , , beats any other bait for land-based and it gets a wide variety of fish.

We used one of those telescopic pole, one metre long which extends to 5 metres.. No reel, just lift and fight , , , , beautie. Haven't been for years, Dad & I would spend a nice Weekend morning just passing the time (away from Mum )

We used No 4-6 longshank hooks, as Leather-jackets were amongst the mix, with a split shotted leader under a float, with sandworms pumped up from the {ort River or sandy banks in Westlakes. Once cast, we threw a pinch of berley (bran based with secret ingredients) thrown at the float, and in the cload , , , , BANG it would be on.

But yes luderick, cleaned well and eaten fresh that day. A bit like Bream which don't freeze well.
