10 minutes is usually enough
Sweet.

For prawning, the most productive months I've found from shore has been February and March on a new moon. Anywhere around Bullock Island and the boat ramp area will hold them, waders are a good idea as the bigger ones can be a little deeper out.

There's nothing . . . absolutely nothing . . . half so much worth doing as simply messing around in boats.

Give Rambo bay a go when you are next here. Crabs all year.

Thanks mate, much appreciated.
I'm searching old posts as well for more info.
Locking in the date for 29 Nov - 1 Dec. New moon is on 27 Nov. So hopefully the water is warm enough, prawns are out and about and low wind.

Can't go past Reeve Landing Jetty on Bullock Island for land based Sand Crabs. People come from all over the world to stand shoulder to shoulder on that jetty and haul in tonnes of crabs. They come in through the entrance during the flood tide and best time to catch them is an hour or two after high tide, once the current in the channel dies down a bit.
Also, just check where you intend to stay in Lakes Entrance as well. A lot of the hotels don't allow crab cooking.

Thanks Cannon, noted.
Planning to stay at Eastern Beach Holiday Park. Will bring a portable gas cook top and a pot, should be okay.
