Casting Challenge

Post by mazman » Fri Apr 10, 2020 2:42 pm

Alright guys, with everyone stuck in their houses and no one allowed out it's a great time to practice your casting and what better way to do it than a competition.

I'm not actually affiliated with this comp just mates with the guy who's running it and it was a bit of fun to enter.

https://youtu.be/utgSHOsta6k

Here's his vid on the challenge and how to enter but it's pretty straight forward.

Film a trick shot, chuck it up on instagram tagging @thehuntforbronze @acmcustomrods @masterangleroz @tackleclub.com.au and hashtag #covidcontainmentcastingchallenge *probably best to double check I didn't miss something

Some pretty sweet prizes on offer

This is my first entry to give you guys some ideas.

Can be baitcast or spin and I would recomend a high speed reel if you have a choice.

I'll be doing a vid on a few tricks to improve cast accuracy with spin soon as well for anyone wanting to brush up a bit

Just did this in the morning. Playing around with short pendulum cast.
Tried outside too with overhead cast, only managed average of around 30cm off target.
Not sure if I'd make a video of a trick cast etc for the competition. I'm kinda lazy, lol.

Seb, I upped the volume and loved the sound effects , , , , "ooooow" , , , , "oooooooh" , and the laugh of excitement when it went in :bn:

Nice shot too :tu:

I think I'd hit more light globes and chip door frames if I gave it a go :(

Cheers, Bugs
