Depending how old you are 800k will not go far. I really don’t think this tradie has thought it through. Buy a house, unless he wants to buy a dump there is at least half his money gone minimum that doesn’t leave him much to live off the rest of his life.
But it would set him up for a great life free of worries. As for me I could retire now instead of 5 years time.

Just so folks know, the winners normaly get finacial counsling aswell (atleast in wa) since they dont want to see you ending up broke and with nothing.

He has the right mind set tho with the house just not quiting his job unless there is other stuff he is doing he didnt want to say (like investments and that).

I would just be happy that I could pay a bill without having to save for it .
In my my book if you can do that you are wealthy ......
"When the people fear the Govn't, that is Tyrany, when the Govn't fear the people, that is Liberty"

Experience is what you get when **** happens

Dont do lotto tho if i won it being a simple man

Buy a car, camper and small boat.
Give some of my family some cash
Invest half it and live off what i keep and get paid from investments

Go fishing and camping all the time and work on my youtube channel and my hobbys of photography.

https://www.news.com.au/finance/money/w ... cd1592dba4 the news link.
Im going to redo this. So i won lotto yea:

800k is a fair chunk of tax free cash

Instantly atleast 400K of it is invested into stock like metals and in companys 50/50 split in both

That leaves me 400K free to do what i like, 25k to my mum as its 1k for every year i have lived so 25k as im now 25 years of age

20k to my sister so that she can have a good start to being a adult and be able to buy a second hand car of her choice.

10K to my brother as he works and doesnt need the boost in life.

That leaves me with 345,000 dollars to do as i wish, that would be buy a car, camper and small boat and all the gear that goes with it. Buy a small amount of bush land and put a house and shed on it for myself and the rest of the cash? used to fund my hobbies and travel.

I'd spend 1/3 on wine
1/3 on women...
and 1/3 on 'song''

If I had anything left over I'd probably just fritter it away.....
