I’m looking At taking the 5.7mt boat and kids out at lake welling on Sunday to see how they handle the water.
Thinking doing bit of fishing if I can also.
I knows there’s bream and flathead there.
Just winding if anyone could give me some tips on where to start and what gear to use and tips for area.
Thanks Ricki

Re: Lake Wellington
If you want to fish Lake Wellington I would launch in the Avon river Streamside reserve. If you take the road down towards Hollands Landing the turnoff is about 10km out of Stratford. It is only a few hundred from the entrance to lake Wellington and if it's too choppy you can go into the Perry river there are plenty of bream in there for the kids to catch and very sheltered from the weather.

Re: Lake Wellington
There isn't any current so a small running sinker rig down to probably a size 2 or 4 hook just with a bit of sandworm and you will have non stop bites.smile0784 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 12:17 pmThanks what’s the best set up bream since kids are around 3 yoBoonanza wrote: ↑Fri Sep 04, 2020 12:04 pmIf you want to fish Lake Wellington I would launch in the Avon river Streamside reserve.
