Line roller bearing

stuck on this one in my trade we grease bearings .What do you do with the line roller bearing grease the bearing or good oil ?

You can buy line roller specific grease.

Basically a very light grease.

On most reels I use light grease, on one of my reels it has a small pin hole specifically for oil and I apply oil regularly but the gearing did not last anywhere near as long as greased line roller bearings.

ive only oiled mine.
if they do pack up, which they will as they are one of the first ones to go, then its not too hard to replace.
micro bearings like those just need oil, not grease imo.

Just buy a Shimano Stradic and you will never have to lubricate any line roller bearing been doing it 15 years never touched one never had a problem

I personally know someone with 4 of them that squeal like banshees due to this exact same problem.

The only reels that will never have this issue are the ones that have bushes in the line roller assembly instead of bearings. Aka daiwa bg, sienna etc...
