Contrary to what most think.
KG is definitely possible on plastics. But not something that happens often down here locally. Great catch nonetheless..

Mine would have to be a banjo on gulp I think. Closely followed by a squid on a salmon slug.

Squid on salmon slug??! Now that's unusual.

Yeah the kgw on plastic is possible, but the location caught, amazed me. Never heard of king george whiting caught off yarra river in city.

I have caught many KGW on plastics over the years but never in the yarra, I honestly can't recall anyone ever catching whiting that far up the yarra

Yeah, I was baffled myself. It was a very small squid at the mouth of Patterson River.

Whiting in the Yarra is definitely not the norm but it did happen...

I'm not surprised, I used to hook them occasionally in the Maribyrnong on sandworm meant for Bream.

First time I heard that too.
I guess though it's uncommon, its possible and precedented.

I've also caught a couple of KGW in Docklands on Gulp worms while chasing Bream.
The weirdest thing I've caught is a Mantis shrimp in Docklands on a live Mullet while fishing for Jewies. :)
