Went to Marios lookin for thin diameter circle hooks
Came up with No6 Owner Hooks-Packet sais Made in Japan
Gave them a go the other day caught 3 whiting with them but each whiting landed in the boat wriggled off the hook
Has anybody used thees hooks before?

Re: Owner circle hooks
I've not used Owner circles, but I have used the Mustad ones and I dropped a number of fish (mostly carp) before I got them to shore. I ended up moving to the Gamakatsu Octopus circle and I've been much happier with them.

Re: Owner circle hooks
Were you using your nibble tip rods with the circles? I don't get a very good hookset using my nibble tip rod with them, I'll use longshanks with that one. The circles are great with the stiffer graphite rods though.

Re: Owner circle hooks
I fish for whiting with 2 rods, 1 with a black magic size 1 circle hook baited with squid. I leave this one in the holder and the fish hook themselves. On the other rod I use a size 4 long shank hook baited with mussel, and I hold this rod so I can strike when I get a bite. If you try fishing mussel or other soft baits on the circle you will be feeding the whiting, not catching them. I recon I catch 2 whiting on the long shank for each one on the circle, probably holding the rod makes the difference.
