You can also consider telescopic rod.

Got myself the savage gear - can't speak for the others but the rod in the travel bag just fit into my luggage at ~ 58cm. Worth a thought if you're flying.
Rock hopper, sand dragger, mud slinger.

What do owners think about these Bone Voyage travel rods? I've heard that the blanks are a step up. I've owned 2 piece rods from Major Craft, Olympic, Jackson, Tailwalk, and Abu. Rods were all around the same price point. For the most part, the blanks were all pretty similar. Good enough, but nothing to write home about.

As the dude who started this thread, I can report that I went for the Savage Gear travel rod.
I’ve used it a couple of times and am very happy with it.
