Does fish finder work for ice fishing?
Does any one have experience fish finder use for ice fishing?

I can't think of anywhere in australia where you would ice fish but on youtube people use fishfinders on ice lakes

I've been ice fishing a few times - it was over 2 decades ago but I remember using a fish finder. From memory the transducer was on a cable and dropped into the drilled hole. You could use something like a deeper, but depending on how thick the ice is - the transducers cone would be restricted (hence the transducer on the cable to get below the ice.

Yeah was cool to do - did the whole drive the Ford F250 out onto the middle of the lake, drill though 1m+ of ice and set up the fishing box with the gas heater.Kimtown wrote: ↑Wed Jul 08, 2020 2:29 pmYeah nice! Nah haven't had a chance to target those - the staples ice fishing were pannies like crappie and perch, then small trout and walleye (no monsters).
