Budget friendly rod
Hi everyone,
So I've got a squid/whiting rod and whatever else bites, I've got a good flatty/snapper rod and now feel as if I want something a bit bigger for catching Gummys.
I'm very new into the scene and am not sure how often I'll get out so I'm after suggestions on a budget/entry level rod and reel combo. I do a combination of land based and a bit off a boat in PPB
Any suggestions would be much appreciated

"combination of land based and a bit off a boat " = That's two length rods for two different situations.

Re: Budget friendly rod
There are budget rods or rod and reel combinations, you should be able to pick up a surf and a boat combo for not a huge outlay, Look at BCF and anaconda.the quality of budget rods is quite good now.

Went to Anaconda today and saw this. Those quickfire rods become around $50

Re: Budget friendly rod
I'm with Cobby...go for a fibreglass rod. Sounds like you have the 1st stages of the fishing disease, it only gets worse from here. If you want to save money long term, buy a decent reel now instead of later (the most versatile reel in my arsenal is a Saragosa 10000, I swap it around on different rods and its as tough as a robbers dog)

Seriously OP, you need two different rods. They dont' need to be expensive, Unless you're flinging lures or walking long distances and weight is an issue take Cobby's advice and buy a fibreglass stick. 7 foot for boats, 12+ for shore fishing.
