Surf gummy

Post by Cuda » Mon Jan 27, 2014 10:01 am

Hi guys.
Got up nice and early this morning and was at the beach by 4.30.
Nothing was biting first couple of casts and then hooked up on the salmon rod.
The thing ran for at least 60-70 m. Few headshakes, but mainly just a straight, ray-like run.
Couple more shakes in the wash and there was a nice gummy looking at me with its glowing eyes.
Went 90cm overall length. Just under 3 kg on my old, suspicious scales lol.

Nah, not really mate. Just the usual, salmon. Pretty small this morning and not in big numbers either. Was a fantastic morning for it.
Tonight and tomorrow morning will also be great for people who can get out.
Thanks raco..will see what it tastes like this arvo :dinner:
Cheers

Nice fish! You did better than my last surf outing, where I managed to snag a cpl of mullet and a baytrout. Did you keep him for the table?
When I got time,
I wet a line cos Im a junkie,
been fishin since a kid,
I like it cos it numbs me..
