No Elephants yet, but this was nice :-)

Post by Brett » Tue Feb 14, 2012 8:22 am

Went to one of the local elephant haunts lastnight for the high tide. Very very boring night, with lots of little salmon stealing the bait all 12cm and under.
Then just as we were gasbagging and about to pack up, my rod bent over and proceeded to have line peeled from it, we all called stingray, until I picked it up and tightened the drag a little.
That's when I noticed the lovely headshakes :super: after a run here and a run there and with me taking a leap down a 4ft wall and landing on my bad ankle :wall: we finally managed to drag this through the mud(gee is it thick over there at the moment)

............. they go quick in the shallow water! I reckon that ripped 100/150metres off ya in the five seconds it took you to get there and tighten your drag...

Yeah, I don't think they are far off, Cheater. A mate said he got one off Cowes pier last weekend also, so a few are starting to show up.
I was trying to get in early and get the pom one before the crowds hit and he heads off back home for a while, but with no luck. They should be well and truly biting in 2 weeks when the tides are rite again.

They aren't in yet, but are starting to show, so should be in full swing in the next couple of weeks.
