Planning to hire a tinny?Lightningx wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 5:55 pmMade good use of my free voucher today. The missus had a $10 one as well so we bought some metal lures for our trip up to Merimbula in a couple of weeks time
Liked the fact that they didn’t have like a $40 minimum spend to use the free vouchers was nice!

Re: BCF winter sale
I was up there about 3 months ago. Didn't have much time to fish and I am no means an expert in the area but we did hire a tinny for 4 hours and had a bit of success.Lightningx wrote: ↑Sat Jul 13, 2019 7:09 pm

Area A is a shallow bank that rises up really quick of that main channel. We only drifted it once but I saw a flatty that would have been at least 80cm+ move off from under the boat.
Area B we caught a hole bunch of tailor
Area C we caught a 40cm bream
We fished area C and towards the inlet for not much luck for about 3 hours then A & B for about half an hour. Wish we had started the other way around.
There is also the ocean pier which had a few people catching. I'd be using heavy gear at the pier as it's a fair height from the water so you will need to lift the dead weight of any fish.
If it's just the tinny (or a kayak) then any typical light spinning gear would suit the area. I'm sure you will work it out
