As already mentioned, stay outside the yellow poles.
If you fish inside them then your fishing illegally.
The poles are in a big line from rickets point to halfmoon bay.
There will be plenty of boats around the area now so you cant miss where to fish.
Many if the kayak guys launch from the beaumaris tea huts or club I think it's called. I'm sure they can give you a hand with some locations
Thanks. I was just googling that tea place thing, not sure what that is. But the yacht club looks okay to launch.
Hi Seb,

The Yacht Club is the place to launch.
If you go on their web site they also have 2 cameras live streaming,
So you can check conditions before heading down.
Main issue is the cost for car parking but good ground around 800mt offshore.
Both these videos were filmed launching there.

Also, worth mentioning this because at first I didn't realise this, and some others may not either:
Heres a list of things you can do within a marine park completely legally:
• Travelling through a marine park in a kayak.
• Being in possession of fish caught outside of a marine park while travelling through a marine park, as long as you are travelling through the park via the shortest and most direct route.
• Having rigged fishing rods in your kayak while in a marine park, as long as you are travelling through the park via the shortest and most direct route.
No rules against launching and travelling through ricketts point with fishing gear, just make sure when you do actually wet a line you are well beyond the limits of the marine park, I didn't realise this initially and thought you had to steer clear of ricketts when launching and returning. The beauy yacht club is a pretty safe place to launch, and like ifishalot said lots of kayak guys launch there and there are also cameras. Pretty excited to get out there myself :-D

Oh that's handy and helpful, thanks! :tu:
Will try to launch and fish there after the cup weekend Sydney trip.
