Not big but these will be tasty, the bloody Pike were smashing them so it took about 20 minute,s before they would settle down and go on the bite .Gear used strada waggler float size 12 hook,s and maggot,s

Plenty of garfish being caught of St Leonards and Queenscliffe pier at the moment.
Went down this-evening and caught a few garfish, squid and kwg from Leonards pier.

Yeah, I followed the advice people gave me, with the exception of using maggots for bait because I still can't get my hands on any. The burley gave off a much finer cloud which people suggested would work better. I fished deep, I fished shallow, I adjusted the depth of the float several times, I drifted for them and tried anchoring up too. It just wasn't happening for whatever reason. Lots of pinkies and tommies but the only gars I saw was a small school I spooked while heading back after I'd used up all my burley.
I'll probably have another crack over the long weekend.

There was heaps swimming around the boat yesterday. But they weren't big ones...
Pike are becoming a nuisance now.

I've been anchored and I've been drifting. It didn't seem to make any difference last week.
