Unlucky on the bream in the comp, purple. But those mulloway though, daayumnn... Be so much fun on bream gear. I can't imagine the thrill, reel screaming hard, etc.
I always wanted to go there, but never had the chance.
Good on you, looks like you had a great time.
Are those shacks privately owned btw? Can the public hire them?
Be great wouldn't it.
Def go and have a try man, it's an awesome place. Its a long ass drive tgats the only drawback.
As for the shacks, pretty sure they are privately owned. Public hire im not sure about, I'm sure there would be one available if you looked hard enough.

We stayed at the Riverview cottages which are pretty much close to the river itself, 2 mins to the pub but still isolated enough to be peace and quiet.

Thats pretty much the view from the front porch.
You can see the river right there.

I woke up in the morning on Friday and seen malov prefishing right in front of me hahahaha....

Great read I have been thinking of going for a while but my boat is not ideal for it. But my neighbours boat is and he is keen to go. Great pictures

Cheers mate.
Well if you have been thinking of going like me for a while then I suggest you bite that bullet and just send it!!!
We had big boats( 5m plus cabins) fishing down the river when we were there. So a big boat can be launched. But check before going as it is a tidal system.
Smaller boats obviously a lot easier. The river is deep in the middle.

Looks the goods. Did a trip there the week or 2 after vic bream for our annual jewthousand comp. It's a $50 buy in. Winner take all comp. Largest jew necked and measured.

Jewthousand22 was a shitter. Haha. 2 Jews caught between about 13 blokes on a 3 day trip. 1 on the Friday at mid 30's and another on the Sunday morning in the mid 70's an hour before the social comp closed. Teach us for planning a weekend on a dodge tide I suppose.

Lots caught on bait over night down there. But ours was a lure only comp so nights were kept for beers around the fire

shame not many more were caught, its a great place for jewies by the looks of it.
while we went on our walk in the evening/night we seen one of the boats fishing the comp out fishing for the jewies at night :dn:
knowing how cold it gets, i think you guys had the right idea of beers by the fire.
