Landbased feed?

Post by Aimless » Sun Feb 23, 2020 12:01 pm

Hey all,

Next Sunday I've gotta drop my wife to Tarneit as she's working on the weekend.

I'll be sticking around the area all day so figured I could find somewhere to set up for a fish. Anything worth checking out? I've got Altona Pier marked on my map but reading old reports it looks like its pretty slow there, and 0 squid.

Would love a go at a squid or anything else edible!

Cheers

Thanks for the tips fellas. From what I can tell Werribee / Wyndham Rockwall are the same thing? Pictured above?

Looks like an easy spot to get to. Guessing I'll hit the southern arm that I marked blue on the picture and cast out to sea if the wind permits?

Keen to have a go myself both here and around the corner at the Werribee South marina, so I'm interested to hear how you get on. Some reports of good flathead, salmon and pinkies out of here.

I will let you know, mostly fish plastics and squid jigs these days so that's what I'll be trying for the most part. If there's a bait shop nearby I might grab something to have a go on that.

Thanks for the wind tip bowl, sounds worthwhile.

Any point trying around the mouth of the Werribee River? Say the Werribee South Boat Ramp?

There's general shop leading to Werribee south. I think they sell bait.
Current can be a bit strong at the mouth of Werribee river and weedy.
You cab catch flathead and bream there though. Sometimes there's aussie salmon run there.
