Hey guys, I want to launch my tinny out of WS ramp, and I’ve never fished the river before. Was keen to do a bit of catch and release but wasn’t sure how far up the system if need to be to target any bream, or whatever else is in there. The whole system looks quite shallow and there doesn’t seem to be much obvious structure.
Any pointers would be extremely helpful!

Re: Lure fishing the Werribee river?
The best fishing is below the cliffs (K rd)
Low tide may stop you getting there or home
I'd try under the moored boats
Whiting off Kirk point in ppb
These are not "secret spots", just a little bit of knowledge
Don't forget to let us know how you go

Just be aware its quite weedy and you may have to do a lot of deweeding your lures....still doable though

Re: Lure fishing the Werribee river?
Yeah a bit weedy there. The mouth can have strong current too during tide change, especially around new and full moon.
Bream will be on bottom this time of year, usually anyway. Plastic slow rolling on the bottom is worth a try.
