Fished Wednesday 12 to 4.
Had sound around p2 n fished low tide change ,only few flatties.
Went in shallow for nothing ,then went Altona reef .
Not much on sounder n was getting chopy so headed in.

Friday, fished near dump Joe marker, few arches on sounder n bait balls round.
Caught 10 slimy mackerel, but no Reds.

Could not get a squid at raaf or point cook..
Hey bowl im keen to catch slimeys for bait if you dont mind sharing whats the method you use

I have caught them before if there their they will take some pilchard on a medium hook maybe 1 -2 turns of the bottom that’s my advice or even a float set up

When i tried a metre or 2 off the bottom the small flattys always grab it, but a bit of surface burley and a float may work

Finding a big bait ball helps.
I first caught a few on really small plastic.

Just small long shank whiting hook small bit of pilchard ,pea size garfish sinker.
They have soft mouths so don't strike.
To many boats kayak, helicopter , catch a fish, catch a fish
