Werribee Boat Fishing

Post by Botch1 » Fri Dec 11, 2020 11:33 pm

Hi All,

Long time reader, first time poster

After fishing land based all my life I've just recently purchased my first boat. It's a 1990 Quintrex 5.5m with a 2010 Yamaha 70hp.
My local boat ramp is Werribee South.
Having only gone out from Werribee in the boat a handful of times (with others) I was hoping someone can help me out with a couple of questions.

1. What's the best wind direction, speed etc to launch from Werribee?
2. I love targeting squid, KGW and Flatties, where do you recommend I should go? Direction? Depth? Etc.?

Thanks in advance.

3-4m out in front of rock wall good for tings and some nice size flattys/squid

I'm assuming you mean in 3-4m of water out the front of the rock wall and not 3-4m from the rock wall? :rf:

South-easterly 5-10kn. Won't be glass, but shouldn't be uncomfortable either. Wind picks up a bit about midday.
