Went out with a mate this morning. Plan was to look for gummy before sunrise then squid and some flatties after sunrise. Got mixed bag instead. Gotta be a record of multi species caught in a half day session. For me at least. Not even half day actually.
Time fished: 4:30am - 9:30am.
Weather: 16°-36°C sunny.
Wind: 5-15kmh North.
Sun: first light 5:30am, sunrise 6:01am.
Moon: waning crescent 8% full, rise 3:15am, set 6:03pm.
Barometer: 1009 steady.
Water: 20°c, fished 4-5m.
Bait: squid head, salted pilchard, pipis.
Lures: zman slim swimz bad shad, sman 2.5in grub motor oil, gulp 4in nemesis pumpkin seeds, gulp 4in minnow nuclear chicken.
Gear: egi rod with 2500 reel and 10lb line, 2-4kg soft plastic rod with 2500 reel and 10lb line, 4-7kg rod with 4000 reel and 20lb line (with 4/0 KL hook straight running sinker).
Otw out, saw heaps of mullet and garfish and theh were attracted to my stick LED kayak light. Saw some big garfish about an arms reach.
I thought I could scoop the big garfish onto the Berkley rubber net. And like an idiot I was, lifted the net like no tomorrow just to see the garfish swam through the net, lol. Coz the berkley net has big holes.
Heaps of fish in the sounder. Dropped pipi bait on #2 baitholder hook and size 00 sinker. Bang! Kgw! Didn't expect a kgw.
Sunrise came, we moved around and it was like, pinkies and flatties on both plastics and bait; til a school of salmon came, the sounder lit like a Christmas tree. Bang! We both on. They were around 30-35cm.

Got too hot, otw back I hooked two pike and a tailor.
Dropped a few, missed a lot, released some.
.
.
That flatty is 42cm, and that pinkie is 29cm. Mrs loves to eat pinkie in the 28-35cm size. Gave one pike and one tailor to a mate, he loves them.
He caught few fish too, took home couple flatties and couple pinkies.
