Few good Salmon

Post by Buckle&scream » Thu Mar 31, 2016 8:09 pm

Did an hours spinning this evening from 6:30pm to 7:30pm land based, managed a few good salmon all averaging about 1.6kg, was awesome fun, was only expecting bay trouts so was very happy with these beauty's, one guy managed 15 but he was there since 5pm, few others got some as well, Definitely gonna be an awesome season this year for land based salmon in the north, for the last 6 years they have turned up in April about this time except for last year don't know what happened they only came on in August and September. Things are looking good for this year  :water:

Wow that's early mate! Good to see them around already :) I haven't even started spinning for them yet! Thought it was too early still.

I'm gonna start spinning soon too. Are you going to use them for bait or eat them mate?

Water temp dropped significantly in the past week. Good to see the sambo's coming around.

I'll be putting them all through the wood chipper soon, I make burley blocks out of them and will keep a few for bait, I prefer eating the smaller ones.
