You can catch them anytime mate.
I have caught plenty during the day and at night :thumbsup:
Pick a day with light winds, burley up and hopefully catch :P

Yea the small pencil ones don't have much meat. Better off being used as bait but most of the ones I got the other day are good for eating.
I usually butterfly them open and cut out the back bone. The other bones are so fine I usually don't even bother with them. By the time you cook them up they aren't that noticeable. But you can always use a rolling pin to get rid of those bones if you want :thumbsup:
And as far as taste, for me they are right up there.
I'll try and find a pic of what they look like.

All I did was remove the back bones mate. Apart from the usual scale and gut.

What a beautiful job, well done. I must say you have got me wanting a feed......but the weather.
I bought a great little flounder light from the US, I know where the Gars are, its just a matter of waiting for the right night.

I'm not sure yet mate to be honest. Haven't made any definite plans as yet.
Might be taking the boat out on Sunday at this stage depending on the weather :thumbsup:
