Micro pinkies, still in abundance

Post by Sebb » Fri Mar 29, 2019 1:24 pm

There are still a lot of micro pinkies ranging from 12cm-25cm.
Fished port melb few days ago to take my mate who just started fishing and purchased his first 12ft rod.

They have such a strong pretty vibrant colours, fight hard for such little fish. Would be better if they're 28cm+ though :-D

Not very hard to catch, any type of baits on small hook (#2 or 1/0) with paternoster rig work well. Good fun for people who just started fishing, good to learn about bait presentation, casting, etc.

Tell me about it. The other week at St Leonards I caught enough to fill every white bucket on brighton pier with undersize fish in the space of a few hours. Also turned 6kg of burley into 2 gars which was pretty lol-worthy I thought.
